Program Overview

The Master of Science (MS) in Biotechnology at Mukabbir University of Science and Technology is a postgraduate program offered by the Department of Life Sciences. Structured in accordance with the HEC Graduate Education Policy 2023, the program requires a total of 32 credit hours for completion. This includes:

  • 26 credit hours of coursework, consisting of core courses (12 CH), electives (12 CH), and Fehm-e-Quran (2 CH).
  • 6 credit hours for a research dissertation, which involves an open defence.

The standard duration for the degree is four regular semesters (two years), with a maximum extension allowed up to eight semesters. To graduate, students must maintain a minimum CGPA of 2.50/4.00. Admission requires 16 years of education in Biotechnology or related fields (such as Biological, Pharmaceutical, or Medical Sciences), a minimum CGPA of 2.0 or 50% marks, and a passing score of 50% in the University Graduate Assessment Test (UGAT) or equivalent.
