The Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) is a comprehensive graduate-level program designed to
produce highly skilled healthcare professionals capable of assessing, diagnosing, and managing a
wide array of physical health conditions. As a doctoral prepared practitioner, graduates are
expected to not only deliver advanced therapeutic interventions but also contribute to research,
education, and policy development within the realm of rehabilitative sciences. The DPT degree
aims to elevate the standards of physical therapy practice by fostering clinical excellence,
innovation, and leadership, ultimately ensuring better health outcomes for individuals and

Program’s Outcome

The Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program is structured in alignment with the HEC
Undergraduate Education Policy V 1.1. (2023) and subsequent guidelines issued by HEC with an
aim to effectively address the evolving healthcare needs of both Pakistan and the broader global
community. It is a comprehensive, advanced degree designed to prepare graduates as licensed
physiotherapists. It focuses on developing competencies in examining, diagnosing, and managing
a wide range of physical impairments and disabilities. The program combines classroom
instruction with extensive clinical training to equip students with skills in therapeutic techniques,
patient management, and evidence-based practice. Emphasizing critical thinking, professionalism,
and ethical standards, the DPT prepares graduates to promote functional mobility and improve
patients’ quality of life across diverse healthcare settings. The curriculum typically covers
anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, pathology, pharmacology, and specialized physiotherapy
disciplines, with a strong emphasis on hands-on practical experience and research. Upon
